The IPL 2025 was in full swing, packed with thrilling action, when a mid-season twist stole the spotlight. Among all those, Bangladeshi pacer Mustafizur Rahman’s contract with the Delhi Capitals sparked the buzz.

As the bowler played only three games donning the Delhi Capitals’ jersey, Mustafizur Rahman made a big splash, surpassing teammate Shakib Al Hasan to become the most successful Bangladeshi bowler in IPL history.

After IPL 2025 paused for a week, Mitchell Starc didn’t return post-resumption. Stepping in for the Delhi Capitals, Mustafizur Rahman made the most of the opportunity. With a match-winning performance against the Punjab Kings, he surpassed Shakib’s tally of 63 wickets, registering 65 wickets in 60 IPL games, becoming the most successful Bangladeshi bowler in IPL history.

After making his debut in IPL 2016 donning the Sunrisers Hyderabad’s jersey, the Bangladeshi turned heads with his outstanding performances. In 16 matches, he secured 17 wickets and played a crucial role in their trophy win. Since then, he’s brought his magic to the Mumbai Indians and the Rajasthan Royals, continuing to impress with his skill.

Bringing in Bangladeshi pacer Mustafizur Rahman as Mitchell Starc’s replacement has turned out to be a game-changer for Delhi Capitals, and their recent win proves it perfectly. While bowling first against the Punjab Kings, Mustafizur secured the early blood for the team after dismissing Priyansh Arya in the second over.

As his destruction didn’t stop early, he removed Shashank Singh, marking a pivotal scalp. After that, he removed Marco Jansen on a duck and ended the game with a figure of 3/33. Depending on his bowling heroics, the Delhi Capitals ended their IPL 2025 campaign with a 6-wicket victory.
