The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has unveiled the entire schedule for India Women’s upcoming all-format series against the visiting South African team. Chennai’s iconic M. A. Chidambaram Stadium has been designated to host the only Test match of South Africa’s month-long tour, and the venue will also host the subsequent T20I series between the two sides.
BCCI unveils IND-W vs SA-W 2024 schedule
Team India will commence their upcoming home series against South Africa with a set of three ODI matches at Bengaluru’s M. Chinnaswamy Stadium between June 16 and June 23. The ODI series will also constitute a part of the ongoing 2022-25 ICC Women’s Championship, which itself is a qualification process for the 2025 ODI Women’s World Cup.
Both teams will subsequently travel to Chennai for a one-off Test match at the M. A. Chidambaram Stadium between June 28 and July 1. While the Test match was not originally a part of the FTP, the BCCI and CSA incorporated it into the tour in a bid to promote women’s Tests.
The Chennai-based venue will then host a series of three T20I matches, set to be played on July 5, July 7 and July 9 respectively between the two sides. Here is a look at India women’s entire schedule for the forthcoming all-format series against South Africa Women:
The T20I series will also serve as a precursor for both nations ahead of this year’s Women’s T20 World Cup 2024 in Bangladesh. The multi-nation tournament will be organized by the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) in October.
