In the 64th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2024), the Delhi Capitals are facing the Lucknow Super Giants at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi. KL Rahul won the toss and opted to field first in the match. 

Jake Fraser-McGurk and Abhishek Porel opened the innings for the Capitals. But the home team suffered an early setback as Jake Fraser-McGurk fell in the first over for a silver duck. 


With the dismissal of McGurk, Shai Hope joined Porel. The two batters started attacking the LSG bowlers. Abhishek Porel has been particularly severe on the bowlers. His aggressive approach has kept the Capitals from missing the dynamic batting of JFM.


The Brilliance of Abhishek Porel

The Afghan pacer, Naveen-ul-Haq, fell prey to the Porel assault in the sixth over of the innings. He started the over with a short ball directed at Porel's body. The young Indian batter was unfazed by the approaching ball and went hard on at it for a pull shot. He lost the grip on the bat handle while playing the shot but got enough power on it to get a maximum over the fine leg region. 



Porel's fearless approach has brought the momentum back in DC's favour, as they have posted 73/1 in the powerplay.
