Bangladesh Cricket Board on Thursday (October 20) announced the schedule of the home series against India in December this year. The series will comprise 3 ODIs and 2 Test matches.

This tour will mark India's first visit to Bangladesh since 2015, wherein the one-off Test match was drawn, while the Tigers secured a 2-1 ODI series victory.

The tour is set to kick off from the ODI leg, with all the matches being played at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur, Dhaka. The first red-ball match will be played at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium, Chattogram, and the series will end with the final match at Dhaka.

In this regard, BCB President Nazmul Hasan reckoned that both nations have been involved in close contests over the years, and the fans will be eagerly waiting to see them play in Bangladesh.

Here's what BCB President Nazmul Hassan stated

"The Bangladesh-India matches in recent history have given us some epic contests and fans from both countries are eagerly waiting for another memorable series. We look forward to welcoming the Indian team to Bangladesh."

Jay Shah, BCCI secretary, echoed the same excitement for the series. He thinks that the India-Bangladesh contest generates tremendous interest and hopes it continues to provide the same to the fans in this series.

"We know how passionate the fans in Bangladesh are and I am sure they will be treated to some exhilarating contests both in white-ball and red-ball cricket," Shah said.

The Test matches will come under the World Test Championship Cycle 2021-23, and crucial points will be at stake for both teams. Currently, India are in the fourth position, while Bangladesh sit in the ninth position in the table.
