Babar Azam's Pakistan To Miss 'Star Pacer' As PCB Removes Him From Squad Before ENG T20Is

In a significant development, Pakistan Cricket Board has released Hasan Ali from the men's squad for the upcoming four-match series against England.

As per the official confirmation, Hasan has been released to continue his commitments in County Cricket. As a result, he won't participate in the first T20I scheduled in Leeds tonight.

Hasan was originally added to the squad as an injury cover for express pacer Haris Rauf. However, interestingly, the right-arm seamer found a place in the playing XI for the third T20I against Ireland where Babar Azam's men secured an emphatic win over the hosts.

Nevertheless, Hasan's absence won't likely cost Pakistan as he wasn't going to be a part of their starting XI in the series.

Considering the Men in Green have a rampant pace battery, they are expected to field Shaheen Afridi, Abbas Afridi, Naseem Shah and Mohammad Amir as the lead seamers.

In 51 T20I matches, Hasan has scalped 60 wickets at an average of 24.27 and a strike rate of 17.22.

However, as he has been expensive with the ball, Pakistan team management has gradually moved on from him in the shortest format.

Led by Babar Azam, Pakistan will face England in the first T20I of the four-match series tonight at Headingley, Leeds.
