Pakistan cricket is undergoing some structural changes after their disastrous performance in T20 World Cup 2024.

They have made changes in the selection committee and now have made a big change in the rules of central contract of players, reducing the contract to one year from earlier three years. However, they have decided against reducing the payscale of the players.

In recent times, PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi has chaired plenty of meetings after the T20 debacle with former players and members of different committees.

One such meeting which included white-ball coach Gary Kirsten, red-ball coach Jason Gillespie along with Mohammad Yousuf, Asad Shafiq and assistant coach Azhar Mahmood took the big decision that the contract of players will be revised after every 12 months on the basis of their fitness, performance and behaviour.

There won't be any changes in the payment of the players though, which is a good news for the the likes of Babar Azam and Shaheen Afridi who have been performing consistently across formats. Also, PCB has decided to hand NOC to only those players who will satisfy fitness and performance criteria and it would be interesting to see how Pakistan cricket shapes up in the near future.
