In the latest development to the Champions Trophy 2025 row, there are reports from Pakistani media that Babar Azam and Co. will boycott the 2026 T20 World Cup if India refuses to travel to Pakistan for the elite 50-over tournament next year.

Notably, the T20 World Cup in 2026 will be co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka. Thus, in a tit-for-tat move by PCB, Geo Super Urdu reported that Pakistan are threatening to boycott the 2026 T20 World Cup.

At the moment, PCB is hell-bent on hosting the 2025 Champions Trophy entirely in their country, while media reports suggest that BCCI have asked ICC for a hybrid model and relocating India games to either Dubai or Sri Lanka.

The PCB is yet to respond to these media reports, but a significant step will be taken during ICC's annual meeting from July 19-22 in Colombo.

A Similar situation occurred ahead of Asia Cup 2023, where BCCI pushed for a hybrid model and eventually got one. Thus, the PCB responded by threatening to boycott the 2023 World Cup, but eventually, the Men in Green travelled to India and faced an early exit.

Talking about India going to Pakistan, the Men in Blue last travelled to the neighbouring country in 2008 for the Asia Cup. Meanwhile, the Champions Trophy 2025 is scheduled in February as per the draft fixtures released by PCB.

Recent reports suggest that ICC is planning to host India games in UAE.
