Pakistan captain and batting maverick Babar Azam has been fined for exceeding the speed limit. The cricketer was imposed an undisclosed amount by the Punjab Motorway Police, according to Pakistan media.
As per the report, Babar Azam was driving his Audi eTron GT car on a highway and exceeded the speed limit. The authorities eventually had to step in to stop the cricketer.
Babar Azam violates road regulations
According to the Times of Karachi report, Babar Azam was recently found violating road regulations. He went overboard the highway’s speed limit while driving his Audi eTron GT car, and eventually had to be stopped by the authorities from the Punjab Motorway Police.
While the cricketer has been subsequently fined for his highway misconduct, the amount has not been officially unveiled to the public.
In the meantime, Babar Azam is gearing up to don the leadership hat once again, this time to lead his national side at the forthcoming 2023 Cricket World Cup in India.
The ‘Men in Green’ are slated to commence their tournament campaign with a match against Netherlands on October 6. The match will be played at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Hyderabad.
Last week, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) also unveiled their entire 15-player line-up along with three travelling reserves for the impending cricketing carnival.
