Pakistan cricket team players have not been compensated by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for the past four months. As per reports, several players are already considering to boycott sponsorship logos as well as World Cup 2023 promotions over their unpaid dues from the PCB.

The ‘Men in Green’ recently toured Sri Lanka for a three-match ‘away’ series against Afghanistan and the subsequent Asia Cup 2023 in the island nation. Babar Azam’s troops also hosted a segment of the tournament in Pakistan, however, part home advantage did not do them any good as they were crashed out of the race in the Super Four stage itself.

PCB likely to face sponsorship boycott from players

As per a report from Cricket Pakistan, several ‘Men in Green’ players have not received a single payment in the last four months in terms of monthly retainers or match fees from the PCB.

Owing to their unpaid dues, a number of Pakistani cricketers are already considering to boycott sponsorship logos as well as promotions for the upcoming World Cup 2023 in India.

In the meantime, Pakistan team under Babar Azam is currently bracing itself for the 2023 World Cup. The PCB recently unveiled team’s 15-player squad as well as three travelling reserves for the tournament.
