After Pillinger walked away scoring 52 runs, Chaplin was also dismissed in 42 runs. Just as the Netherlands looked to mount a comeback through Kloppenburg and Tom de Leede, Ram Sharma struck to remove Kloppenburg, followed swiftly by Ollie Jones dismissing De Leede. Those back-to-back blows shifted the momentum, sealing a 20-run win for Scotland in a gripping contest.

Throughout the qualifier stage, they remained unbeaten and unfolded the dream with the thrilling victory. As quoted by ICC, after the victory, Scotland Under-19 captain Thomas Knight addressed the moment as ‘Unbelievable’.
“Unbelievable! Could not be happier and especially doing it in that manner, winning a tight one there at the end. This whole week has been building upto the one game today, there has been a lot of learning we have taken from game one against Sweden all the way through to now,” he said.
In January 2026, the ICC Under-19 Men’s World Cup is all set to take place in Zimbabwe and Namibia. Ahead of that, Tom Knight and Co. will hustle hard to make a mark on the big stage.
