Cricket Australia has confirmed plans to send its team to Pakistan early next year for a white-ball cricket series. Todd Greenburg, the CEO of Cricket Australia, shared this news during an online media event.

Australia’s last visit to Pakistan before 2022 was over 23 years ago. The 2022 tour, which included Tests and white-ball matches, went well.

However, since May 2025, conditions in Pakistan have not been favourable for cricket tournaments due to a border conflict with India. Regardless of safety concerns, the Aussies are set to tour Pakistan.

Australia Tour Of Pakistan Confirmed

Cricket Australia CEO Todd Greenburg has confirmed that Australia will tour Pakistan for a white-ball series in early 2026. He explained that after visiting Pakistan in 2022 and participating in the Champions Trophy, CA wants to have more cricket exchanges with Pakistan.

Both cricket boards are currently discussing schedules to include a red-ball and white-ball series whenever there is space in the calendar next year.

“We are trying to schedule a red-ball and white ball series in our program with Pakistan where the window is available. I think the tour early next year will be a success for both boards,” Greenburg told Telegraph.

He also spoke about the Big Bash League (BBL), Australia's popular T20 competition. Greenburg mentioned it would be great if top Pakistani players could play in the BBL this year. Having strong players from Pakistan would improve the competition’s quality and attract more fans.

Australia, the defending champions, qualified after defeating India in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, while South Africa secured their maiden spot earlier by winning the first Test against Pakistan.
