The Ashes is known for its iconic grandeur and a phenomenon that started back in 1877 is still living up to its name in 2025. Cricket Australia saw its highest individual day of ticket sales in history which set the parameters of fan engagement for a toss.

Notably, more than 1.6 lakh tickets were sold before the opening NRMA Insurance Ashes Test at Perth went on sale. As the pre-register is still on, Cricket Australia will be expecting more engagement in the coming days.

Did the Ashes Just Set an Unbreakable Record?

England and Australia are all set to engage for an exciting summer with the Perth Test beginning on November 21 and the Ashes ending with the Sydney Test on January 8. However, the craze for the game has surpassed every other year.

This year, with the record sale stated by CA, sees the previous record of 1,11,741 tickets sold in an individual day (2017/18 pre-sale) shattered by a huge margin.

“The record demand for tickets shows the excitement fans are feeling about the fantastic international season to come. To surpass our previous ticket sales record even before NSW and WA tickets had gone on sale is a remarkable achievement and reaffirms our position as Australia’s national sport,” said Todd Greenberg, Cricket Australia.

As per Telangana Today, Greenberg further requested fans without tickets to buy one if they haven't already since the allocation is soon set to be exhausted.

“I would urge those who haven’t already bought their tickets to do so now as we expect allocations to be exhausted for some days. We can’t wait for an unforgettable summer of international cricket,” Greenberg said.

For the unaware, the general public ticket sale will go live on June 13 and it is important to note that fans can register for pre-sale too by visiting the official website of Cricket Australia.
