The highly-anticipated match of Asia Cup 2023, India vs Pakistan match, is all set to be played on Saturday, September 02, at Sri Lanka's Pallekele International Cricket Stadium.

While India will be opening its Asia Cup 2023 campaign with this match, Pakistan have already kicked off its tournament campaign with a massive 238-run victory over Nepal in the season opener at Multan Cricket Stadium.

Meanwhile, in the lead-up to the highly awaited class, Rohit Sharma, the captain of Team India, has addressed a press conference and fielded a barrage of questions.

Amid the conversation, the Mumbai batter dropped a hint that he is gearing up for an all-out aggressive approach against Pakistan. He mentioned how he has been unleashing that fiery top-order cricket in Test matches lately and plans to carry that same fire into ODIs.

'It's my responsibility to set the platform'- Rohit Sharma

"I have played with a high risk approach in the last couple of years, I have to balance that in ODIs, as a top order batter, it's my responsibility to set the platform."

There is no denying that Rohit Sharma faced some heat from Pakistan's fast bowlers in the last three T20 face-offs. But switching to a 50-overs game, Rohit has a history of piling on the runs against Pakistan in this format, and he will be eager to keep that roll going.

Notably, the 34-year-old has racked up 720 runs in 16 ODI matches against the arch-rivals Pakistan at an average of 51.43 and a strike rate of 88.77. He has a total of six half-centuries and two centuries to his name against the Men in Green.
