In a significant development, Pakistan have named a formidable playing XI for the much-awaited Asia Cup clash against India in Pallekele on Saturday. Led by Babar Azam, the Men in Green have announced the same eleven players who took the field in the tournament opener against Nepal in Multan.

As expected, the southpaw duo of Fakhar Zaman and Imam-ul-Haq will open the batting for Pakistan, with skipper Babar Azam slotted at number three. 

Meanwhile, Pakistan's Mr dependable, Mohammad Rizwan, will bat at number four besides donning the keeper's hat. 

On the other hand, the dynamic all-round trio of Iftikhar Ahmed, Shadab Khan and Mohammad Nawaz will bat in the lower middle order, with promising batter Agha Salman expected to enter the middle as their number five. 

Talking about Pakistan's bowling department, the fiery pace trio of Shaheen Afridi, Naseem Shah and Haris Rauf will play as the only three seamers, with Shadab, Nawaz and Iftikhar playing the spinners' role.

The high-voltage face-off against India will be Pakistan's final group-stage fixture in the tournament. Meanwhile, Rohit Sharma's troops will kickstart their campaign with the mother of all battles, set to take the centre stage at 3.00 PM IST on Saturday.
