Kuldeep Sen in the IPL
Reports have surfaced that Kuldeep Sen will replace Deepak Chahar in the Asia Cup squad after the pacer suffered an ankle injury.
Deepak Chahar's injury woes
The pacer had just returned to the Indian squad after a 6-month long injury lay-off during the recently concluded series against Zimbabwe. Alongside Arshdeep Singh, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Avesh Khan, the righ-armer had been named as a standby in the Asia Cup squad.
Kuldeep Sen's entry
Kuldeep Sen, who represents Madhya Pradesh in the domestic circuit is likely to replace the injured pacer. The fast bowler gained traction for his 145+ kmph deliveries in the Indian Premier League. Bought by the franchise Rajasthan Royals (RR) , Sen quickly gained traction alongside speedster Umran Malik.
He picked up a total of 8 wickets for RR in 7 games at an average of 29.6
Troubles at Indian camp
The Indian side is certainly going through a rough patch. Pace attack leader Jasprit Bumrah suffered a back injury and was ruled out, later head coach Rahul Dravid tested COVID positive a few days ahead of India's first game at Asia Cup 2022. Following which VVS Laxman has been named the interim head coach.
India is set to lock horns with Pakistan in the tournament opener on 28th August.
