On this day, three years ago, Jasprit Bumrah blew away the West Indies team to secure a highest-ever away victory (318 runs) in terms of runs for India at North Sound, Antigua. 

In this pursuit, India broke their record of 304 runs, which they registered against Sri Lanka in 2017. 


India well ahead in first innings

Batting first, India lost three quick wickets to the Caribbean pacers, which put them in a spot of bother. However, it was the knocks from KL Rahul (44) and Ajinkya Rahane (81), which paved way for the team to stabilize themselves. 

In the lower middle order, Ravindra Jadeja contributed 58 to help India to finish with a total of 297. 

In response, West Indies could score 222 on the board, with the contributions of Roston Chase (48) and Jason Holder (39). Ishant Sharma scalped five wickets to trigger the collapse of the hosts.

In the second innings, Rahane continued his rich form to hit 102, while Hanuma Vihari hit an unbeaten 93 to propel India to declare on a score of 343, and pose a target of 419. Bumrah started off by picking wickets of openers Kraigg Brathwaite and John Campbell, with the latter's stumps getting bamboozled courtesy of a fiery pace. 

The then 25-year-old wreaked havoc by breaching the defenses of established batters, Darren Bravo, Shai Hope and Holder. 

Bumrah finished with the figures of 5/7 in eight overs, to help India register a victory by 318 runs.
