Sheldon Jackson takes a dig at selectors after India A snub

One of the most consistent domestic performers in recent history, Sheldon Jackson once again missed the India A bus. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) recently announced a strong 16-member squad led by Priyank Panchal, sans Jackson, who is still awaiting a call-up.

He was also not picked in West Zone squad for the upcoming Duleep Trophy 2022-23. Jackson was last picked for India A back in 2014-15 and played for West Zone in the Duleep Trophy in 2015-16.

Since 2015-16, Jackson has amassed 3,846 runs, including 12 centuries and 21 half-centuries for Saurashtra.

The Saurashtra-born in his tweet revealed how people still question his age, despite dishing out runs in the Ranji Trophy over the past three seasons. The Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) player, however, was adamant about keeping his dream of playing for India alive.

"I have a right to believe and dream that if i have performed for 3 continuous season, i may get picked on the basis of my performances not age, tired of hearing this that im a good player and performer but im old🤣, im 35 not 75"

Jackson has played 79 First-Class games scoring 5,947 runs with 19 tons and 31 fifties. He has also played 67 List-A and 70 T20 matches, accumulating 2,346 and 1,534 runs respectively.

Apart from KKR, Jackson has represented Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the IPL as well.  KKR brought the keeper-batter to the Indian Premier League 2022 edition, where he managed just 23 runs.
