On Friday, December 26, KKR star batter Angkrish Raghuvanshi suffered a nasty injury, following which he was stretchered off the ground and rushed to the hospital for scans. The incident occurred during Mumbai vs Uttarakhand Vijay Hazare Trophy matches in Jaipur.
Raghuvanshi went for a difficult catch, and in the process, he hurt his shoulder and neck. Unfortunate visuals emerged from Jaipur Stadium as fans were worried for the KKR star as they feared a serious injury.
Raghuvanshi cleared off any serious injury
In the latest events, Kushan Sarkar from PTI dropped a new update on Raghuvanshi and stated that the scan results were positive. The 20-year-old has been cleared of any serious injury. The report mentioned that Raghuvanshi suffered a concussion and has now been discharged from the hospital.
However, the extent of the concussion is unknown, and there is no clarity over Angkrish’s participation in Mumbai’s next game. Notably, the Shardul Thakur-led side will next lock horns against Chattisgarh on December 29 at the Jaipuriya Vidhayala Ground. Since only two days are left for the game, there is a huge chance that the management decides to rest Raghuvanshi and opt for a new opening pair for Rohit Sharma.
Angkrish Raghuvanshi struggling for runs in Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025
The 20-year-old’s injury can have a major dent on his career as he is out of runs, and sitting out of the team with an injury will further weaken his case. Notably, the 20-year-old has amassed just 49 runs in two innings, averaging 24.50.
Not just Vijay Hazare, but Raghuvanshi has struggled for runs since his IPL 2025 heroics with KKR. The right-handed batter had a great IPL, but he only amassed 49 runs in four innings in SMAT 2025. Further, Raghuvanshi could only amass 130 runs in 7 innings in the Mumbai T20 2025.
Therefore, these are not great signs for KKR either going forward, as they see Raghuvanshi as one of their key figures in the team.
