Kolkata Knight Riders appear serious about grooming young talent Angkrish Raghuvanshi into a future superstar. After reportedly refusing to trade him to RR, the youngster landed in the franchise’s academy workshop to train.

Raghuvanshi, now 21, first rose to prominence during the 2022 U19 World Cup, where he played a key role in India’s title-winning campaign with solid batting performances.

He joined KKR in IPL 2023 and gradually became one of their brightest young prospects.

In July, Angkrish Raghuvanshi sustained a thumb injury. However, he appears to have now recovered, as the 21-year-old was spotted training at the KKR academy’s indoor workshop.

He took throwdowns with a tennis ball and appeared to perform concentration-based drills.

Interestingly, KKR went out of its way to keep Raghuvanshi in its fold. According to reports, Sanju Samson has expressed his desire to leave the Royals after a long stint as RR captain.

Rajasthan Royals reportedly approached KKR and demanded two players in return instead of an all-cash deal, and one of the names they demanded is Angkrish Raghuvanshi.

But KKR have refused to let him go, as the management believes the 20-year-old has a bright future and could take on bigger responsibilities for the team in the coming years.

Interestingly, RR had also reportedly approached CSK with a trade proposal involving Shivam Dube and Ruturaj Gaikwad. However, the Super King too refused the offer, leaving Samson hanging in a team that he devoted 12 years to build.
