Andhra Cricket Association Hits Back At Hanuma Vihari After Captaincy Controversy

According to Hanuma Vihari's latest tweet, the Andhra Pradesh Cricket Association has taken cognizance of the allegations he raised earlier today. The medium pacer and right-handed batsman expressed concerns about the inherent politics and corruption in the squad, which led to his dismissal from captaincy. 

The drama unfolded for quite some time with both parties leveling allegations. However, the board decided to intervene before the situation escalated. 

In the notification released by the Andhra Pradesh Cricket Association, it is understood that the board has denied the allegations, citing Vihari's possible unavailability and national team call up due to the challenges the national team is facing.


In the letter, the board has stated that Hanuma Vihari used inappropriate language directed towards a Bengal player during a Ranji game. Despite Vihari's apology, concerns persisted among the rest of the staff regarding the all-rounder's behavior. 

Furthermore, the letter highlights instances of internal groupism displayed by the Andhra Pradesh team manager during the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy.


What did Hanuma Vihari say? 

During the ongoing Ranji Trophy campaign, Andhra Pradesh suffered a heartbreaking loss to Madhya Pradesh in a closely contested quarterfinals, falling short by just four runs. Devastated by the defeat, Hanuma Vihari took to social media to express his frustrations regarding certain issues that have been troubling him for some time. 

Vihari highlighted the lack of recognition and respect given to him despite his significant contributions to the team over the years. He emphasized his role in leading the team to the knockouts in five out of the last seven Ranji seasons.
