After a break of six years, Jammu and Kashmir will resume hosting Ranji Trophy matches in the upcoming India's domestic season.

They will host three matches in the coming season, as confirmed by the Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA).

Srinagar To Host Two Ranji Matches; Jammu To Have One

While the game schedules are yet to be announced, Srinagar’s Sheri Kashmir Cricket Stadium will have two matches in the forthcoming Ranji Trophy season. They will take place during October, while it is still unsure when Jammu, who will have one match, will host the match.

“According to the match schedule issued by the BCCI, J&K’s Ranji team will play against Maharashtra and Services in Srinagar at Sheri Kashmir cricket stadium,” Majid Dar, in charge of developing cricket in Kashmir, said in a statement.

Needless to say, the political tensions in Jammu and Kashmir have often been turned out as the topic of discussion in India. Due to a security threat from Pakistan, they often do not get the equal rights they deserve.

However, the story is not going to same in the times to come, as players are now highly motivated after getting back the hosting rights.
