Indian cricket team skipper Rohit Sharma dominated the headlines yesterday after scoring a scintillating century against Afghanistan, which helped the nation script a 3-0 t20 series win. However, he was more in the news due to a major controversy that saw the 36-year-old bat for the third time despite leaving the field in the first super over.

While the varied opinions regarding the matter have cooled down, the name 'Rohit Sharma' continues to emerge on the front pages of newspapers. However, this is not because of the Indian skipper, but because of a 29-year-old lad from Jammu & Kashmir currently running riot against Odisha in the Ranji Trophy.

Sharma, listed as a medium pacer, has scalped a fifer in the first innings by giving away just 12 runs in the 13 overs he delivered. To top that up, 8 of his 13 overs were maidens, while he recorded the best economy rate (0.92) of all J&K's bowlers in the first innings. Sharma's heroics helped his team restrict Odisha to a score of 130 in the first innings.

As far as the scorecard at the end of Day 1 is concerned, J&K currently have 45 runs on the board with four wickets down. Going by the look of things, it seems that Rohit Sharma's heroics will once again be called for when Odisha comes out to bat in the second innings.
