Afghanistan will travel to Pakistan to participate in the Champions Trophy 2025, the Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) confirmed the development to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).

As per multiple reports, ACB Chairman Mirwais Ashraf and CEO Naseeb Khan recently traveled to Colombo for the ICC’s annual Board Meeting, where they had the opportunity to meet PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi.

Even though Afghanistan’s participation in Pakistan was never in doubt, the recent drama between India and Pakistan regarding the hosting rights of the Champions Trophy 2025 sparked a lot of discussion. In between, the ACB re-assured PCB to allow them to breathe a sigh of relief.

"During the meeting (ICC), ACB officials assured Naqvi of Afghanistan's participation in the 2025 Champions Trophy, which Pakistan will host in February and March," a cricketpakistan.com.pk statement read.

ACB To Host A Youth Tri-Series Including Pakistan

In addition, the ACB also discussed with the PCB regarding a Youth Tri-series, which will involve Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The series will take place soon.

The decision regarding the hosting of the Champions Trophy 2025—whether there will be a hybrid model or India—will be confirmed soon.
