The sheer joy and exuberance were palpable as New Zealand made history by clinching their first-ever T20 World Cup title at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium in Dubai. They triumphed over South Africa in a nail-biting battle on Sunday.

From hugging each other in happiness to putting on their singing hats, the White Ferns spent quite some time soaking in the winnings feeling. In a new video shared by ICC, the New Zealand women, led by Amelia Kerr with a guitar, are seen singing their hearts out at the stadium, with the Women's T20 World Cup 2024 trophy right in front of them.

The New Zealand players sang a stunning Maori song to celebrate their maiden T20 World Cup victory.

Amelia Kerr Achieves A Historic Feat!

Amelia Kerr, the 24-year-old leg-spinner, delivered a standout performance in the Women's T20 World Cup 2024, finishing with an impressive total of 15 wickets. Her three wickets in the high-stakes final were pivotal in securing the trophy for New Zealand and making history. Kerr's achievement surpassed the previous record of 13 wickets set by England's Anya Shrubsole in the 2014 tournament, marking her as the highest wicket-taker in a single edition.

Kerr was awarded the Player of the Match and Player of the Tournament in appreciation of outstanding performances, hence becoming the first player to claim both honors together in a single Women's T20 World Cup edition. She is the second one to do so after England's Sam Curran won the same honours during the Men's T20 World Cup of 2022.
