The stage is set as Bangladesh prepares to meet South Africa in the first Test match of the highly awaited South Africa tour of Bangladesh, which will start on 21 October onwards at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur, Dhaka.
Led by Najmul Hossain Shanto, Bangladesh aims to bounce back from their recent embarrassing series defeat to India. Interestingly, the squad remains unchanged from the previous Test series against India. Only one notable exclusion has been made: the absence of Khalil Ahmed. The squad also includes Shakib Al Hasan, whose participation earlier was unclear.
Meanwhile, South Africa on the other hand, will be going into the first Test without skipper Temba Bavuma, who was ruled out due to a left tricep muscle strain.
