The stage is set as Bangladesh prepares to meet South Africa in the first Test match of the highly awaited South Africa tour of Bangladesh, which will start on 21 October onwards at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur, Dhaka.

Led by Najmul Hossain Shanto, Bangladesh aims to bounce back from their recent embarrassing series defeat to India. Interestingly, the squad remains unchanged from the previous Test series against India. Only one notable exclusion has been made: the absence of Khalil Ahmed. The squad also includes Shakib Al Hasan, whose participation earlier was unclear.

Meanwhile, South Africa on the other hand, will be going into the first Test without skipper Temba Bavuma, who was ruled out due to a left tricep muscle strain. In his place, Aiden Markram will step up to lead the team during this crucial match. With a mix of wins and losses, The Proteas men would hope to bring their best foot forward.

According to weather predictions by Accuweather, the conditions at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium look pleasant for the first Test match between South Africa and Bangladesh. The temperature is expected to be between 33° C and 37° C, and it will remain partly sunny throughout the day. 

An excellent sign is that there is zero probability of thunderstorms and a very minimal 2% chance of rain; however, if it rains, it is expected to be a passing shower. Apart from this, there is a cloud cover of 32% hovering over the city. The wind will blow from the north region at 9 km/h, with gusts reaching up to 19 km/h.
