However, the wait is over as the former India Test captain is set to return to the domestic circuit with a game against Railways.
When will Virat Kohli play in Ranji Trophy?
Virat Kohli is set to return to the domestic circuit with a Ranji game against Railways, starting on January 30 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi. Interestingly, as DDCA have arranged for 10,000 free tickets and the fans can witness their icon in action.
Kohli in poor form ahead of Ranji game
Kohli had a torrid 2024 across formats, but struggled particularly in the red-ball format, where he could only score a solitary century, which came up against Australia in Perth.
He couldn't do much in the New Zealand Tests and his technique outside the off stump was exposed by the Aussie bowlers.
As a result, the India great spent some time with former batting coach, Sanjay Bangar and worked on his back-foot game and range of shots, something which was missing in the Australia series.
