Talking to Star Sports, Ambati Rayudu recently revealed that there is a possibility that temples could be constructed for none other than legendary MS Dhoni in Chennai.

He also believed that temples could be built as a tribute to his remarkable contributions to Indian cricket as well as his successful stint with the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) over the years.

CSK clinched a decisive victory over Rajasthan Royals (RR), taking them one step closer to securing a coveted spot in the IPL 2024 playoffs. With a total of 7 wins out of 13 matches and a net run rate of +0.528, they are currently positioned third on the points table.

Rayudu Praise MS Dhoni And Stated That "He Is A GOD" In Chennai

It is not uncommon for ardent fans of popular celebrities, such as Rajinikanth and Kushboo, to build temples in their honour as a display of their admiration and reverence in Chennai.

And with MS Dhoni being one of the most beloved and celebrated stars in India and Chennai, it comes as no surprise that fans may want to follow suit and pay homage to him in a similar fashion.

“He is the God of Chennai and I am sure, temples of MS Dhoni would be built in the years to come in Chennai. He is someone who brought India the joy of two World Cups and has brought Chennai joy with a lot of IPL and Champions League titles. He has just been that one guy who shows belief in his players, who has always done it for the team, for the country and for CSK," Rayudu told Star Sports.

After a thrilling victory over the Rajasthan Royals, the CSK former captain MS Dhoni, took a well-deserved victory lap at the iconic Chepauk Stadium

The atmosphere was electric as the crowd erupted in cheers, showering the team with their unwavering support and appreciation for their outstanding performance in the tournament so far.  The team, in turn, soaked up the moment, waving to their fans and thanking them for their encouragement throughout the season.

Chennai Super Kings are geared up for their upcoming match against Faf du Plessis' Royal Challengers Bangalore on Saturday, May 18, 2024.
