In a controversial move, Cricket Australia recently postponed their men's team's bilateral series against Afghanistan, citing deteriorating human rights for women and girls in the country under Taliban's rule.

The tour, scheduled entirely in the UAE, was supposed to comprise three T20 International matches between Australia and Afghanistan, the host nation.

Meanwhile, days after CA decided to reschedule the series, the Afghanistan Cricket Board has strongly condemned the former's move through an official statement.

In the press release, the ACB has urged Cricket Australia to refrain from making politically influenced decisions on cricketing matters. The apex body has further called on its counterparts to resolve the matter through discussion and collaboration.

The Afghanistan Cricket Board has expressed its displeasure with Australia's tour postponement, highlighting that the schedule was prepared following thorough consultation with the ICC as well as the CA delegation.

The ACB has criticised CA's last-minute decision, considering it a hypocritical move after initially giving the green light.

It's the third instance when Australia has refused to play with Afghanistan based on humanitarian grounds. Earlier, they cancelled a one-off Test series in 2021 before pulling out of a three-match ODI series two years later.

At last, the Afghan board has expressed its desire to resolve the recurring issue, being open to settlement and mutual cooperation. However, with the Aussies having a packed calendar year, the chance of CA reversing its decision seems bleak at the moment.
