The Indian cricket team has reached South African shores to participate in a four-match T20I series starting November 8. Led by Suryakumar Yadav, a 15-member squad featured in a 162-second video uploaded across the official social media platforms of BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India).

Although some first-choice players are missing due to their involvement in the recently concluded Test series against New Zealand and the upcoming tour of Australia, the Indian team still looks like a strong unit which encompasses an ideal blend of experience and youth.

The video is up to the brim with buoyant enthusiasm as the likes of Abhishek Sharma, Tilak Varma, Vijaykumar Vyshak, Axar Patel and Arshdeep Singh partake in a game of “True or False” around their knowledge of South Africa. The incessant chortling speaks highly about the jovial team atmosphere.

It is noteworthy that Patel is the only player who was part of the Indian Test squad and will now play the shortest format in South Africa.

With head coach Gautam Gambhir also occupied with the Test team, former batter VVS Laxman will coach the team in his absence. Readers must note that Laxman used to play a similar role during former captain and head coach Rahul Dravid’s tenure as well.
