Former Indian opener turned commentator Aakar Chopra expressed his views on Wednesday on India's recent ODI series loss to Sri Lanka. He criticized the Men In Blue and pointed out a sense of complacency that led to India's crushing defeat.

Rohit Sharma and the Indian team were left in a state of shock and disappointment after they failed to capitalize on the opportunity to equalize the series. The usual spark was missing as India struggled to make crucial breakthroughs at the right moments.

Speaking on his YouTube channel, Aakash Chopra provided a comprehensive analysis, shedding light on the one missing factor of India that resulted in their defeat.

'Ruthlessness was missing': Aakash Chopra On IND's Loss

"We weren't able to close out the innings with the ball. There seemed a sense of complacency that we would get the wickets anyway and if we don't get the wickets we will chase the runs anyway. The ruthlessness was missing."

Previously, during the post-match interview the Indian skipper was asked whether or not India were complacent, to which he responded by saying:

"It's a joke. When you are playing for India, there is no complacency. When I'm the captain, there won't be any complacency. We will try hard to win the games. But we were outplayed in this series. You have to give credit where it is due. Sri Lanka played well and they deserved to win."

Meanwhile, if all goes well India will next be seen hosting Bangladesh in a two match Test series starting in September.
