Babar Azam, the Pakistan skipper has sent his heartfelt wishes for Arshad Nadeem, who is all set to compete against his arch-rivals, Neeraj Chopra in the finals of the Javelin throw in the Paris Olympics on Thursday.

Nadeem is Pakistan's hope for breaking their Olympic medal drought, as the nation hasn't won a single medal since the 1992 edition in Barcelona.

The Javelin thrower qualifier for the finals with a massive throw of 86.59 meters in his first attempt. Alongside Neeraj, he qualifier for the main event in just one throw. His achievement has garnered him praise from everywhere, especially the cricketing fraternity in Pakistan, and now Babar Azam has joined the bandwagon as well.

“I wish him good luck. I request everyone to support and pray he wins the final. Chak De Phatte Arshad Nadeem,” Babar Azam stated in a video message

Pakistan would hope that Nadeem breaks their trophy drought tonight. He is the only Asian to have breached the 90m mark in javelin throw, and he'll look to do that again in the finals.

As far as Babar is concerned, he last played for Pakistan during the T20 World Cup in 2024, where his nation crashed out of the group stage.

He will next be seen in action against Bangladesh in a two-match Test series, starting August 21.
