On Friday, January 3, India's forgotten star Karun Nair entered history books as he went past Australia's James Franklin to script a world record in List A cricket. Nair, who is currently leading Vidarbha in the Vijay Hazare Trophy smashed his third straight century.
In the recently concluded VHT match between Vidarbha and UP, Nair smashed 112 (101) and got out for the first time in this tournament. It is a mind-boggling stat as Nair has played five matches so far in this tournament and has got out just once.
He broke the world record for most runs scored between dismissals in List A cricket. he went past the record held by James Franklin, who had amassed 527 runs in 2010 between two dismissals. Meanwhile, Nair has scored 542 runs in five matches in the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2024-25, where he got out just once that too against UP.

Karun Nair Unforgotten Hero Of Indian Team
Nair's last match for India came in 2017 and it has been seven years since he earned a India call-up. His performance for Vidarbha has come at a right time as Champions Trophy 2025 is around the corner and will start from February 19.
Although, it is unlikely that the selectors will look at the 33-year-old for the upcoming fifty-over event but the right-hand batter has played his part and done everything he could.
