The 2nd Test between Pakistan and South Africa is underway at the Newlands Stadium in Cape Town. The hosts won the toss and opted to bat first. Meanwhile, Pakistan have dealt a heavy blow as they have lost Saim Ayub to a nasty injury. 

The incident occurred on day 1 of the 2nd Test where Ayub ran to stop a boundary but slipped and twisted his ankle.  The incident occured on the last ball of the 7th over. 

Saim Ayub Twists His Ankle

Soon the physios attended Saim Ayub, who was in immense pain and had to leave the field in stretcher after heavy taping on his injured foot. The Pakistan team are sweating hard over Ayub's injury as he was the man in form and Champions Trophy 2025 is less than two months away.


Babar Azam Comes To Saim Ayub's Help

It was an unfortunate incident as Ayub slipped and twisted his ankle. He was in immense pain and Babar Azam was the first one to console him. Babar helped him and stayed with him till the physios attended Saim. 

It is a big blow for Pakistan as Ayub, who hasn't done much in the ongoing series, was in form in white-ball series where he smashed two centuries in the ODI series. Notably, Champions Trophy 2025 starts on February 19 and at present Ayub has been taken to hospital for scans. 

Pakistan are hoping for a positive news and they also fear a long injury for the southpaw. Talking about the match, South Africa have started on a positive note and are 53/0.
