Mohammad Rizwan has been the backbone of the Pakistan team ever-since he made his international debut for his nation. The star player has been one of their best performers, not only with the bat, but also behind the stumps with his excellent glovework.
On Friday, during the second Test Vs South Africa at Cape Town, Rizwan attained a huge milestone after the fall of Aiden Markram's wicket. Pakistan seamer, Khurran Shahzad invited Markram for a drive as the Proteas batter got an inside-edge and keeper Rizwan took a simple catch to dismiss the opposition batter.
The wicket and the catch allowed Mohammad Rizwan to reach the century milestone as it was his 100th dismissal in Test cricket as a wicket-keeper. In the ongoing clash, he was involved in all three dismissals as his Test tally now stands at 102 - 95 catches and 7 stumping in 37 Tests.
He took the catch of Markram, and it was followed by another brilliant diving catch of Wiaan Mulder, and the icing on the cake was the sharp catch to dismiss Tristan Stubbs for a duck.
Pakistan dominate first session despite receiving injury blow
Pakistan are in the driving seat after the end of first session. South Africa started strongly, but the Pakistan bowlers pulled things back as they have scalped three quick wickets.
However, the team suffered a huge injury blow in the form of Saim Ayub. The batter tried chasing away a delivery, but he twisted his ankle and looked in agonising pain. The phsyio came out to attend him and the star batter was taken out of the field on a stretcher as his participation in the remainder of the Test remains unclear.
