There are certain moments in cricket that just leave you speechless and hitting 6 sixes in an over is right at the top of that list. It’s one of those rare, jaw-dropping feats that only a few players have ever managed to pull off.

Over the years, five cricketers have turned an ordinary over in international cricket into a spectacular show, making the crowd go wild and cementing their spot in the sport’s history.

Here’s a look at the batters to have hit six sixes in an over in international cricket

Nepal's, Dipendra Singh Airee, hit six sixes during the ACC Men’s Premier Cup match against Qatar at Al Amerat in April 2024.

In a breathtaking display of power, Airee hammered six consecutive sixes in the final over of Nepal's innings, with Qatar pacer Kamran Khan on the receiving end.

Airee's explosive unbeaten 64 off just 21 balls powered Nepal to a total of 210/7. Ultimately, Nepal secured a convincing 32-run victory.

4. Jaskaran Malhotra

Jaskaran Malhotra might not be a household name like the others on this list, but his achievement of hitting 6 sixes in an over catapulted him into the spotlight.

Playing for the USA against Papua New Guinea in the second ODI in 2021, Malhotra turned the game on its head with a scintillating display of hitting.

Facing Gaudi Toka, Malhotra treated the bowler like a rag doll, mercilessly dispatching each delivery out of the park. It was as if he had a point to prove, and boy, did he prove it!

USA posted 271/9 in their 50 overs, with Malhotra scoring a stunning 173* off 124 balls. Papua New Guinea, in their chase, struggled against the USA’s disciplined bowling attack and were bowled out for 137 in 37.1 overs, handing the USA a comprehensive 134-run victory.

Kieron Pollard is known for his brute strength and ability to clear the boundary at will, and he lived up to that reputation in March 2021 during a T20I against Sri Lanka.

After Sri Lankan spinner Akila Dananjaya had the high of picking up a hat-trick just an over earlier, Pollard brought him back down to earth with a thunderous display of power hitting.

Pollard treated Dananjaya’s bowling like a walk in the park, sending each ball into the night sky. It was as if Pollard had decided that the boundary was simply too close for his liking.

Pollard's blitz (38 off 11 balls) led West Indies to chase down Sri Lanka’s total of 131 with 41 balls to spare.

2. Yuvraj Singh

In the heat of the 2007 T20 World Cup, Yuvraj Singh turned the game on its head with a performance that had the crowd on the edge of their seats.

After a heated exchange with Andrew Flintoff, Yuvraj walked out to the crease with fire in his belly. England's Stuart Broad was the unfortunate bowler who bore the brunt of Yuvraj's fury.

Each ball was dispatched with absolute power, clearing the boundary with a swagger that had the entire stadium in awe. By the end of the over, Broad was left licking his wounds, and Yuvraj had cemented his place as a cricketing icon.

Yuvraj Singh's six sixes helped India post a formidable total of 218/4 in their 20 over.England, despite a valiant effort, could not chase down the target. They ended their innings at 200/6, falling short by 18 runs.

Herschelle Gibbs etched his name in cricket history when he became the first player to hit 6 sixes in an over in an international match (third one after Gary Sobers and Ravi Shastri who did it in domestic cricket.

In the 2007 ODI World Cup, South Africa faced the Netherlands in what seemed to be a routine match. But Gibbs had other plans.

Facing leg-spinner Daan van Bunge, Gibbs went on a rampage, sending each delivery soaring over the boundary. With the bat swinging like a sledgehammer, he made light work of the bowling, launching the ball into the stands with ease.

Courtesy of Gibbs's 72 off 40 balls, the Proteas set a mammoth total of 353/3 in their 40 overs (the match was shortened due to rain). The Netherlands struggled against the formidable South African bowling attack and managed 132/9 in 40 overs.
