On Tuesday, August 19, the BCCI announced a 15-member squad for the upcoming Asia Cup edition that begins from September 9. Chief selector Ajit Agarkar and captain Suryakumar Yadav addressed the press, where they released the list of players set to travel to the UAE for the prestigious continental cup.
Suryakumar Yadav will lead the side, while Shubman Gill marks his return to the T20I set-up and will also serve as his deputy. The chief selector, Ajit Agarkar, remarked that the IPL performances were a key factor behind the selection, and this article will look at players from each IPL team who made it to the squad.
Mumbai Indians - (4)
The Mumbai Indians have the most players who have made it to the playing XI. Notably, Suryakumar Yadav, the captain himself, is an integral part of the squad.
Further, Tilak Varma, who is the no. The 2-ranked T20I batter in the world is part of the squad and is expected to bat at No.3.
Hardik Pandya is also part of the 15-member squad and will be the star all-rounder in the team, who will start all the games without a doubt.
The fourth player from the Mumbai Indians, who is a part of India's squad, is Jasprit Bumrah. A few days ago, there was a lot of chatter around Bumrah's place because of his workload management, but the 31-year-old expressed his desire to play the continental cup.

KKR's star spinner Varun has been included in the 15-member list as he continues to be one of India's primary spinners, but faces tough competition from Kuldeep Yadav.
Rinku Singh
Notably, there were reports that Rinku Singh was in a four-way race with a few other players for the last spot, but the KKR star got ahead in the pecking order and eventually made it to the cut.

One more KKR star, who featured in the 15-member list, is Harshit Rana. The right-arm seamer is growing in ranks and has been part of India's white-ball set-up for the last couple of years.

Delhi Capitals feature the third-most players in the Asia Cup 2025 squad, as Kuldeep Yadav and Axar Patel will feature for the Men in Blue in the continental cup.
Yadav faces tough competition from Vaun Chakaravarthy, while Axar will assist Hardik Pandya in the all-round department.
