For years, it was Ricky Ponting who was India's nemesis in Test cricket, and once Ponting retired, Steve Smith became the main nemesis as he continued to pile on truckloads of runs against the Indian bowlers.

However, it seems like India have found their new arch nemesis in the form of Travis Head. The Australian middle-order batter loves playing against India and it was evident in the last Test in Adelaide, when the swashbuckling batter slammed a 141-ball 140 and steered his side to a winning position.

Head has become a "headache" for the Rohit Sharma led side, however, there is actually a ray of hope for the Indian team and perhaps the surface at the Gabba, Brisbane will turn out to be India's best friend in the next match.

Just like every other ground in Australia, Head enjoys batting at the Gabba as the pace and bounce helps him to utilise his raw power. He is an exceptional timer of the ball and has immaculate record here. In 5 matches, he has 352 runs, with an average of 50.29.

The record looks outstanding, but here is the catch. Despite Head having a brilliant record at Gabba, India will feel optimistic and it is because of his last 3 Test innings at this venue.

The last 3 innings at this venue have been horrendous for the Aussie batter. He has scored 0 runs and has been dismissed for golden ducks in all three innings. The first instance came against the South African side, and it was followed by two back-to-back golden ducks Vs West Indies, a game which the Aussies lost.

However, Head boasts a strong Test record against India and is coming off a remarkable ton in the last Test match, which was a day-night affair.

Despite his stellar record against the Indian side, the Indian bowlers will be pretty confident of taking on Head at the Gabba, a venue where has faced difficulty in the last 3 outings.

Conclusion

India do have an outside chance of dismissing Head for a low score, and possibiliy for a duck in the 3rd Test. The three successive ducks will play in Head's mind when he'll come out to bat, but the Aussie batter also has brilliant record against the Indian side.

However, looking at his weakness, the Indian bowlers led by Bumrah will fancy their chances of making 4 ducks in a row for him.
