As Rohit Sharma celebrates his 38th birthday on Wednesday (April 30), the cricketing world pays tribute to one of the modern greats. Rohit’s journey from a promising Mumbai teenager to one of cricket’s most feared batters has been decorated with milestones that continue to stand tall in international records.

With iconic double centuries, World Cup heroics, and unmatched consistency, Rohit has carved a legacy that will be difficult for future generations to surpass.

In this article, let's take a look at the some of his most iconic and seemingly unbreakable records

1. Highest Individual Score In ODIs - 264

The most jaw-dropping feat in the history of ODIs is Rohit Sharma’s 264-run knock against Sri Lanka at Eden Gardens on November 13, 2014. This remains the highest individual score in men’s ODI cricket.

Facing 173 deliveries, Rohit unleashed a relentless assault featuring 33 fours and 9 sixes. It wasn’t just a display of brute force but of patience, timing, and sheer domination.

2. Most Hundreds In A Single ODI World Cup - 5

Rohit was in sublime form during the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2019, he scripted history by smashing five centuries in the tournament. This is the most by any player in a single World Cup edition.

The star player made 648 runs in just 9 matches, he overtook Kumar Sangakkara’s previous record of four centuries (2015). Rohit’s hundreds came against South Africa (122*), Pakistan (140), England (102), Bangladesh (104), and Sri Lanka (103).

3. Most ODI Double-Hundreds - 3

While scoring even one double century in ODI cricket is a rarity, Rohit has achieved the feat three times. Apart from the record-breaking 264, he has also scored 209 against Australia in 2013 and 208* against Sri Lanka in 2017.

Out of the 10 double centuries recorded in men’s ODIs, Rohit owns nearly a third of them. What sets him apart is the ability to convert strong starts into monumental innings.

Happy Birthday Rohit Sharma!
