The inventor of the carrom ball, Ravichandran Ashwin, will no longer be a part of the IPL after hanging up his boots from the marquee franchise league this morning as he looks to venture into foreign T20 leagues. Previously, Ashwin decided to quit international cricket after a long and successful red-ball career for India in the white jersey.

As for Ashwin, who has been a part of the IPL since the inaugural season in 2008, and then went on to play until the recently concluded 2025 season for his beloved Chennai Super Kings (CSK), has decided to move past his Indian career and is all set to venture into a new chapter of his life.

The off-spinner, who has been a part of quite a few sides in the IPL, initially with the Chennai Super Kings until the 2015 season (before they were banned for two years), then with Rising Pune Supergiants, following which he joined Punjab Kings side (whom he captained), then for Delhi Capitals, and later for Rajasthan Royals in the IPL.

Later, he was then bought back by CSK last year in the mega auctions for a hefty price tag of ₹9.75 crore. Therefore, let's examine Ashwin's total earnings in the IPL and their value in terms of dollars.

As for Ashwin, who has earned a total of ₹97 crore 24 lakhs, it has been quite a remarkable achievement, considering it is close to the landmark of ₹100 crore. As it turns out, ₹97 crore 24 lakhs is equivalent to US$11,087,457.95 or US$11.08 Million when converted.

Considering Ashwin has been a part of the IPL with a total of 221 matches in the league, where he has picked up 187 wickets at an average of 35.2 and an economy rate of 7.20, this money is worth it.

In contrast, for CSK last season, his returns were dwindling, as he only managed to pick up seven wickets in nine games at an average of 40.42, while bowling at an economy rate of 9.12.
