Bhuvneshwar Kumar had an ordinary day with the ball in Lucknow Falcons' ongoing encounter against Meerut Mavericks in the UP T20 league. While he managed only a single wicket, Bhuvneshwar conceded 49 runs off his four-over spell, letting his team down in the high-voltage affair. 

Bhuvneshwar Kumar Gets Hammered For 29 Runs In An Over

Although Bhuvneshwar Kumar was impressive in his first three overs, his last over proved to be a game-changer for the Mavericks. Rituraj Sharma emerged as the nemesis of the veteran speedster, smashing him for four boundaries and two sixes and collecting 29 runs off the over. 

The opener, who was well-set on 46, took the advantage of Kumar's poor line and length, dispatching his deliveries to all parts of the ground. 

The first delivery was sent into the stands for a six, with Rituraj scoring consecutive boundaries off the next four balls. He concluded the over with another six, with Meerut Mavericks breaching the 200-run mark in the penultimate over. 

Bhuvneshwar's Poor UP T20 Form: A Concern For RCB?

Bhuvneshwar Kumar emerged as a match-winner for Royal Challengers Bengaluru in their title-winning campaign in the IPL this year. However, the fast bowler has not been at his best in the UP T20 so far, with his declining form slowly increasing RCB's headache before the IPL retentions. 

Overall, Kumar has scalped only four wickets across five matches, recording a modest strike rate of 30 and a mediocre economy of 8.10. Talking about the match, the right-arm pacer's expensive spell propelled the Mavericks to 233 for four in 20 overs. In response, Lucknow Falcons seem to have recovered after a shaky start, placed at 90 for four in 13 overs as of writing.
