In 2024, the Indian cricket team enjoyed a remarkable year, capped by their victory in the T20I World Cup. The team's success was not limited to white-ball cricket, as they also displayed their supremacy in Test cricket, despite a few challenges during the year.

Nitish Kumar Reddy 

The first name in this list is none other than, Nitish Kumar Reddy, who scored his maiden international century on Day 3 of the Boxing Day Test against Australia at the MCG. Coming to the crease with India at difficult situation and facing the imminent threat of the follow-on, Reddy's century proved to be a match-defining moment. 

With India in a precarious position, the pressure on Reddy could not have been more intense as he made 104 runs off 171 balls. In his maiden Test century, Reddy exhibited a perfect blend of defense and aggression, playing out the tough spells and capitalising on scoring opportunities when they came. 

Yashasvi Jaiswal

Yashasvi Jaiswal scripted one of his most celebrated career-defining batting display at Perth Stadium, scoring a majestic century in India’s second innings of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25. After a disappointing duck in the first innings, the young opener showed remarkable resilience and class to lead India’s fightback. 

His knock of 104 runs off 174 balls featured 14 boundaries and was a lesson in controlled aggression, with Jaiswal executing every stroke with finesse and confidence. Jaiswal’s Perth century can be stated as one of the most outstanding displays of batting in 2024. 

Sarfaraz Khan

The third in the list is Sarfaraz Khan's exceptional century in the first innings against New Zealand in the opening Test of three-match series at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium. Batting first after winning the toss, India’s batting line-up collapsed in spectacular fashion. New Zealand, in reply, dominated with the bat and made 402 runs. 

But the highlight of the match was Sarfaraz Khan's sensational century. His innings displayed elegant strokes and deft placement. His ability to play with maturity and aggression brought India back on track.
