RCB's newest signing, Tim David continues his torrid time in the Big Bash League 2024 as the batter failed yet again in the match against Sydney Sixers. Playing for the Hobart Hurricanes, David couldn't do much and was dismissed for a single-digit score.

Sixers opted to bowl first and the Hurricanes had a solid start as the openers added 45 quick runs. However, wickets started falling at regular intervals before Ben McDermott and Nikhil Chaudhary resurrected the innings. The duo played quick-fire knocks and it was expected that Tim David will provide the finishing touches, but that didn't happen.

Batting at number 6, David tried to flick a good length ball on the leg side, but closed the bat face a bit early as he got a leading edge and the keeper took the simplest of catches. The Hurricanes batter departed for just 4 off 8 as his team finished the innings at 161/6.

RCB have pinned high hopes on David

RCB had some shrewd buys in the IPL mega auction and one of them was Tim David. The former Mumbai Indians batter was bought for INR 3 crore as the Bengaluru based franchise have pinned high hopes on him.

Interestingly, David did play for RCB before, but was released a couple of years ago as he was roped in by the Mumbai team. However, the team management saw an improved version of him as the batter will play more as a finisher for the RCB side this season and the Chinnaswamy ground will suit his style of batting.
