In an exciting Big Bash League clash, the Hobart Hurricanes faced off against the Sydney Sixers at Bellerive Oval in Hobart. The highlight of the match came when Nikhil Chaudhary, playing for the Hurricanes, hit a stunning 80-metre six that had the crowd buzzing.

Sydney Sixers won the toss and decided to bowl first. Early on, Hobart Hurricanes got off to a good start with Mitchell Owen leading the charge, scoring several boundaries. Matthew Wade supported him well, and together they put on a solid 45-run partnership. However, the opening stand came to an end when Owen was dismissed by Hayden Kerr.

During the 12th over of the Hurricanes' innings, Nikhil Chaudhary delivered a moment of brilliance. Dwarshuis bowled a 134.5 kmph delivery, and Chaudhary hit it effortlessly over the forward square leg fence for an 80-metre six. It was an incredible strike, showcasing his power and timing. After that, Dwarshuis tried a shorter delivery, but Chaudhary just dabbed it to backward point for a quick single.


Chaudhary and McDermott Help Hurricanes Post Commendable Score

After the early wickets, Chaudhary and McDermott took the responsibility of rebuilding the innings from the 7th over. They played cautiously at first, but then took advantage of the Power Surge, scoring 33 runs during that period. McDermott led the charge with the bat, and Chaudhary joined in as well. The Hurricanes were in a good position as the match neared its final stages.

Unfortunately, things fell apart in the last few overs. McDermott and Chaudhary were both dismissed in quick succession by Bird and Edwards. With two key batsmen gone, the Hurricanes couldn’t build any momentum towards the end.
