In the ongoing first Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy at Perth Stadium, Yashasvi Jaiswal scripted a sensational comeback with the bat on Day 3, as he completed a majestic century in India’s second innings. After a disappointing first-innings outing where he was dismissed for an 8-ball duck, the young opener demonstrated immense resilience and class to lead India’s fightback against strong Australian bowling attack.  

Opener Jaiswal, alongside KL Rahul, started the second innings for India on a positive note. He showcased remarkable determination and a wide range of strokes. 

Jaiswal’s Redemption In The Second Innings

It is important to mention that, Jaiswal’s innings was a blend of patience and aggression. He particularly showcased his class and executed elegant shots. His partnership with KL Rahul was crucial for India, as the duo stitched a crucial century stand to stabilise India’s innings. Jaiswal reached his hundred and raised his bat to acknowledge the applause from the Perth crowd and his teammates.  

India’s Pacers Dominate On Day 1

The highly-anticipated match begun dramatically on Day 1, with India’s batting lineup faltering under challenging conditions. Australia’s pacers exploited the bounce and movement on offer to bowl India out for a mere 150. 

However, India’s bowlers responded brilliantly. Jasprit Bumrah, leading the side in Rohit Sharma’s absence, delivered a fiery spell to dismantle Australia’s top order. Mohammed Siraj complimented him perfectly, and showcased remarkable composure. 

At the time of writing, India have full dominance on the match with Jaiswal and KL Rahul on the crease. India are at 197 runs with massive lead of 243 runs.
