The inevitable has finally happened and while it did take a lot of time to occur, but Rohit Sharma is finally back in form as the India skipper tormented the England bowlers with his merciless hitting and slammed a majestic fifty in the second ODI run-chase. India needed 304 to take an unassailable 2-0 lead in the series, and Rohit came out all guns blazing.

The India skipper started off with a boundary against Gus Atkinson and smashed a six as he announced his arrival in style. He smashed a 30-ball fifty as the England bowlers looked helpless as they witnessed a classical knock.

The return of Rohit Sharma was imminent and it is a blessing for Team India ahead of Champions Trophy and here's why.

The fear inside the opponent

Rohit Sharma in 2023 made a drastic change to his batting style in ODIs. He decided to become an aggressive opener as he wanted to lay the foundation with his blistering batting. The decision paid off as he smacked 597 runs, but most importantly struck at a whopping 125.

There was a fear inside the opponent's mind during the World Cup and with Rohit once again back in golden touch, that fear will once again be instilled as the Champions Trophy approaches. These are ominous signs for India as the form of Rohit was vital for India's chances in the tournament.

His body language will change with runs on his back

For the last few months, Rohit Sharma the captain looked lethargic and his body language looked down and out. This was partly due to his poor form in Test cricket, where he failed to deliver the goods.

His captaincy looked lacklustre as runs were hard to come by and people questioned his place in the side. However, the knock in the second ODI will give loads of confidence to him and as a leader, he'll have a positive body language as Rohit, the captain looks to win the Champions Trophy.
