Indian captain Rohit Sharma had an outstanding start to the second ODI in Cuttack, as he smashed a few glorious sixes off the English seamers during the run-chase. After England posted a competitive total of 304 runs, Rohit gave India a flying start with his fireworks in the powerplay.

After flicking Gus Atkinson for a huge six over the mid-wicket, Rohit dispatched Saqib Mahmood's full-length ball over the extra cover fence for another maximum. As he came out to open the innings with Shubman Gill, Rohit took some time to get his eyes in before unleashing his beast mode.

From over the wicket, Atkinson bowled into Rohit Sharma's pads, as the stylish Mumbaikar flicked the ball nonchalantly into the stands for a massive six. He followed it up with another beauty, hitting Mahmood for a gorgeous maximum over the cover region.

Rohit's magnificent cameo helped India get a flying start to the run chase. With Gill taking his time, Rohit ensured India came right back into the contest by capitalising on the field restrictions.

How Has The Match Panned Out So Far?

After winning the toss and batting first, England set a challenging 305-run target for the home team. While Ben Duckett and Joe Root struck valuable fifties, Liam Livingstone contributed crucial 41 runs to the total. In response, India were 48 for no loss at the time of writing.
