Bangladesh and South Africa will play an all-important clash in the T20 World Cup 2024 on Monday (June 10) in Match 21 of the ongoing edition at Nassau County International Cricket Stadium, New York.

Given that Sri Lanka, the Netherlands, and Nepal are pooled into Group D, a victory in this fixture could give Bangladesh a major boost to guarantee a place in the Super 8.

Bangladesh bowlers produced a dominating performance against their arch-rivals Sri Lanka, restricting them to 124/9 in Dallas, with everyone except Shakib Al Hasan reaping the rewards with beauties after beauties.

However, their batting unit pulled off a disappointing show while chasing a below-par target. Barring Litton Das and Towhid Hridoy, who played according to the situation, everyone failed miserably. Hence, they might make some changes in their playing XI before moving to New York for the South Africa fixture.

Bangladesh may bring Litton Das back as an opener to allow Najmul Hossain Shanto to play at his preferred No. 3 position. In addition, they are expected to bring in Shoriful Islam, who missed out on the tournament opener due to a finger injury.

Shoriful could directly take a place for Sarkar, as Bangladesh bat deep, and they should be fine with the move. The rest, however, are likely to keep their places in the lineup.
