Heated arguments are nothing new on cricket fields, and it often becomes the center of attention. Such a happening took place on Saturday when Australia took their arch-rivals England in Match 17 of the T20 World Cup 2024 match at Kensington Oval, Barbados.

The incident happened during the 18th over of Australia's innings when Matthew Wade, just after hitting a boundary, was about to be ready to face Adil Rashid.

However, when Rashid released the ball, Wade was not fully ready, and defended the ball to the bowler after seeing the ball was released. It would have been a dead ball had Wade not attempted the shot.

The on-field umpire Nitin Menon, who is from India, told Wade exactly that after seeing the Australian wanted a dead ball. 'For what?,' Menon questioned Wade.

Wade did not like the style of speaking of Menon, as he started to charge at him. Menon told him to back off by 'shooing away', as animated scenes took place in Barbados.
