South Africa Women and England Women to clash in ODI series [Source: @ProteasWomenCSA/X.com]
After sweeping South Africa Women in a 3-game T20I series, England Women will once again challenge the Proteas in a 3-game ODI series starting from December 4. The 1st ODI will go on floors from 5.30 PM IST at the Diamond Oval in Kimberley.
South Africa Women
Despite being ranked 3rd in the ICC Women's ODI rankings, South Africa Women will enter the impending ODI series low on confidence after a 3-0 whitewash in the T20I series against England. Their recent ODI outings have also been disappointing, including a series loss to India in June. Much rests with skipper Laura Wolvaardt, who showed promise in the T20Is, and Nadine de Klerk, who has been the team's leading scorer. Besides, the return of Marizanne Kapp, a world-class all-rounder, adds depth and experience to the lineup.
England Women
Ranked 2nd on the ICC Women's ODI charts, England Women come into the ODI series with high morale, having dominated the T20Is and secured a recent ODI series win against Ireland. Their team has a great depth and variety. Tammy Beaumont's return adds strength to the lineup as she has been one of the most consistent performers in ODI cricket. Nat Sciver-Brunt and Amy Jones will also look to continue their excellent form with the bat, while Sophie Ecclestone, ranked as one of the best spinners in the world, will be the key figure in England's bowling attack.

How will the Diamond Oval pitch behave?
The Diamond Oval pitch offers a balanced contest between bat and ball. Early movement with the new ball provides assistance to seamers, while spinners can also play a significant role as the match progresses. Batters can settle in to play freely with the consistent bounce, while teams winning the toss may want to bat first in order to capitalise on the early conditions and set a challenging total.
