This Tuesday (March 12), Multan Sultans, who have already been confirmed as one of the first two teams in the PSL 2024, will play their final league game against Quetta Gladiators. This will also be the last match of the overall league phase, which will take place at National Stadium, Karachi.

Multan and Quetta are two of the already-confirmed four teams in the PSL playoffs, alongside Islamabad United and Peshawar Zalmi. The points table looks really interesting, as all teams, barring Multan, can finish anywhere in the top half of the chart.

The last two matches are crucial for Peshawar Zalmi and Quetta, given that being among the top two sides is always an advantage.

However, on the contrary, Multan do not care much about this fixture, as their position in Qualifier 1 has already been guaranteed. Hence, they might even opt to give Mohammad Rizwan a rest and bring one of their warhorses, Khushdil Shah, back into the mix.

To replace Rizwan, Dawid Malan will come to the fore, whereas Chris Jordan might have to be sidelined to make way for Khushdil. In Rizwan's absence, Usman Khan, who went berserk in the competition lately, will hog the limelight.

Meanwhile, if Rizwan doesn’t play, David Willey, the vice-captain, will take up the leadership’s duties. The others, on the other hand, should retain their places.
